How to Start Modeling in Miami
Are you a struggling actor or actress in Miami? Still searching high and low for Miami Modeling jobs but having no to little luck? Well maybe it’s time to try something new, it seems that people getting into the business are missing out on tons of available paying gigs and they don’t realize it.
Many casting calls for modeling in Miami are distributed directly to agencies and casting company’s and never released to the general public. Doesn’t it seem worth while to pay a small fee to help get the best jobs out there that will only better your portfolio and help you gain exposure. For models, you really do have to invest in yourself to give yourself a fighting chance to become a star in the industry.
Think of modeling as any other hobby/job, for example pretty much any sport, (basketball, football, volleyball etc.). Many athletes don’t just become great, they invest in their time and money in summer camps, gear and they study their sport intensely to help critique and perfect their skills. They invest in themselves, because at the end of the day, what you’re really trying to sell, is yourself.

Talent is pretty difficult to define, but believe you me, I know it when I see it. That’s part of the reason I became a talent scout — when I see something I like, I know that most other people are going to like it, too. I spend my weekends going out to crazy parties, awesome shows, great stand-up comedian acts, mind-blowing concerts, and doing all sorts of artists and repertoire work to find the next big superstar. Of course, for me to find these people, they have to already be established — or, at least, performing when I get to the venue. It’s always a craps shoot in these types of situations. That’s why I prefer holding casting calls.
Casting calls are held by talent agents like myself, and they give people like me the opportunity to interview hundreds of aspiring actors, musicians, dancers, comics, and all sorts of different, interesting people. They come in droves, line up outside of the studio, and wait for the chance to meet with me. Sometimes I ask them to sing and dance, sometimes I ask them to tell me a funny joke, sometimes I just ask them to entertain me as best as they can. Let me tell you, there are some pretty awful “talents” out there. But every now and then, someone catches my eye, and I give them a shot. A callback, anyways. A callback is when you’ve auditioned and the casting director likes you, so they ask you to come in for another audition. After several of these, if you can take the heat and you stand up well under pressure, if you’re dedicated and you want the limelight bad enough, you just might find yourself lined up to take on a big part in a television show, a movie, or maybe we’ll set your band up for a world tour.
Right place at the right time? I can’t even begin to tell you how uncommon it is for that to work. Sometimes, but it’s always all about luck. Instead, I suggest you make your own luck. Get yourself in the right place at the right time instead of letting fate decide it for you.
